Welcome to Desert Song: A Songwriter's Retreat - our springtime session. For three days we will meet each morning to write and talk about songs and songwriting. In the early afternoon, Charlie Koch will offer a guitar class: Accompaniment for Songwriters. In the evenings we gather again for a song circle and Bring-Your-Own-Dinner gathering. In-between is your time for writing and enjoying the beauty of Moab. Orientation begins Tuesday evening, May 28, and we say goodbye at our last song circle on Friday evening, May 31. The Workshop will be held at The Moab Arts & Recreation Center (The MARC) in downtown Moab. Tuition $425
Participants are responsible for their own lodging and meals.
a community of musicians who enjoy bluegrass, folk, blues, swing, jazz, Irish, flatpicked and fingerstyle guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, bass, singing, learning and fun! Break out of your routine and be inspired by a variety of styles, first-rate musicians, and the incredible experience of being immersed in acoustic music. Our instructors are some of the top players in the nation, but they were chosen because they’re known by peers and students as great instructors for all levels. Class sizes are small, with an average 7:1 student-teacher ratio, so you’ll be sure to get plenty of individual attention.
